In Israel..(5th Dec.Day 3/10)

Sea Of Galilee
The Sea of Galilee is the catchment basin for the Jordan River and is fed primarily by the melting snow of Mount Hermon in the north. Small streams also flow down from the surrounding mountains. It is 685 feets below sea level.
Here Jesus rebuked the winds and sea, walked on water (Mark 6:45-52) and created a miracle of 'boat-sinking, net-breaking' catch(Luke5:3-10). Peter also walked on water until he took his eyes off Jesus and sink because of the storms (Matthew 14:28-32)

On a boat, quite a symbolic sight with 2 flags side by side, given Singapore and Israel's relatively similar position and situation.

Sea gulls flying to get bits of bread from us.

Mount of Beatitudes
Jesus delivered the famous sermon (Matt 5,6 and 7) on the Mount. The hill has a hollowed slope that forms as a natural amphitheatre, amplifying any speaker's voice. WAy Cool...that's how Jesus spoke to the crowds.

Robe donated by Pope John Paul II.

Tabgha (Heptapegon)
Location along the shores of the lake where Jesus called Peter and Andrew to be fishers of men. This is also the traditional site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes. The table rock where this wonder took place has been the altar of successive churches. Also known as Church of the Multiplication.

Church of St Peter's Primacy
This is the site where resurrected Jesus showed Himself to His disciples as they were fishing (John 21).

A heart-shaped rock!

Statue of Jesus forgiving Peter for his denial and restoring him fully. Jesus also commissioned Peter to look after His sheep (John 21:15-17) .

Kursi
Site where Jesus delivered the possessed man and sent the legion of demons into a large herd of swine and the herd ran down a steep place into the sea of Galilee (Mark 5:1-13). According to the guide Ilan, this is the only place around sea of Galilee that has a cliff and is considered steep. (Taken from the moving coach)

Capernaum
Jesus preached and performed many miracles in Capernaum (Matt 8:5-16). However, the people of Capernaum did not believe in Jesus (Matt 11:23).

The traditional house of St.Peter was discovered beneath the Byzantine octagonal church.
Olive fruit.

Ancient Boat Museum
A model of the 2000 years old boat found in 1986 drought where the receding waters of the sea of Galilee yielded a wooden object embedded in the silt a few hundred meters south of Kibbutz Ginossar.

65 tons of chemicals were used according to meticulous calculation over a period of 9 years of conservation to enable the wood to dry for the 1st time in 2000 years.
And finally!
