Qumran The 2000 years old Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in a cave by Bedouin shepherd boys. Consolidated from scrolls found in some 11 caves, every Old Testament book is represented except Esther. It was a historical moment when the scrolls were discovered as there is evidence now apart from the Bibe itself that the Word of God is real. Behind L. and Auntie, one can see one of the caves where the Scrolls were found. Ein Gedi This was David's refuge when he fled form King Saul for the safety of his life (1 Samuel 23:29). Mount Scopus Within the official borders of the city of Jerusalem, one can have a panoramic view. The golden mosque one can see is the Dome of the Rock, a fiercely contested site between Muslims and Christians. Harod Spring 'And the Lord said to Gideon, "the people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, "My own hand has saved me."(v2)......By the 300 men who lapped I will save you and deliver the Midianites into your hand..' Judges 7:1-5 From 33 000 (inital army) -> 10 000 (left those fearless) -> 300 (drink water by putting their hands to the mouths equate to watchful and alertful) VS 135 000 Midianites Ratio => 1 soldier from Gideon's army : 450 Midianites.. Interesting how God reduces the number of Gideon's army such that it leaves no doubt that God and God alone provides the victory and deliverance. The reliance that Gideon needed to place in God ...
