In Israel..(7th Dec.Day 5/10)

Mount Scopus
Within the official borders of the city of Jerusalem, one can have a panoramic view. The golden mosque one can see is the Dome of the Rock, a fiercely contested site between Muslims and Christians.

Harod Spring
'And the Lord said to Gideon, "the people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, "My own hand has saved me."(v2)......By the 300 men who lapped I will save you and deliver the Midianites into your hand..' Judges 7:1-5
From 33 000 (inital army) -> 10 000 (left those fearless) -> 300 (drink water by putting their hands to the mouths equate to watchful and alertful) VS 135 000 Midianites
Ratio => 1 soldier from Gideon's army : 450 Midianites..
Interesting how God reduces the number of Gideon's army such that it leaves no doubt that God and God alone provides the victory and deliverance. The reliance that Gideon needed to place in God in order to have this glorious victory.

Beit Shean
One of the great cities of the olden days. During the time of Christ (Greco-Roman period), it was one of the ten major cities known as Decapolis.
The bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung from its city walls after being defeated and killed by the Philistines.
'Then they out his armor in the temple of the Ashtoreths and they fastened his body to the wall of Beth Shan.' 1 Samuel 31:10

A scaled model of Beth Shan (Beit Shean).

The bathhouse toilets, a channel of running water under the seats afforded drainage.

The only day that rain when we were in Israel, rain is scarce and there are only about 60 days of rain in a year approximately.

Streets of Beit Shean, can see the remnants of Roman civilisation..
