AIDs

Teaching Lower Sec Science to my class has been an enriching experience for myself, there is this particular instance where I taught how AIDs or rather HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) attacks the immune system (mostly white blood cells) of the body such that even common illness like cold, coughs etc. become deadly because the HIV-infected body is unable to fight off these common infections.
So technically speaking, a HIV-infected person is like an 'open target' exposed to all types of viruses and diseases found. One particular country devastated by AIDs is Africa, as I was preparing for my lessons, I found it extremely sad that about 26 million people in Africa were infected and the number is actually those reported cases only.
A thought came to me, God's covering and protection is like our body's immune system though inadequately expressed by me, God's grace and love washes and clears us of all our sins and iniquities, it protects us from harm and the effects of sin. Most of us are unaware of how blessed and protected we are, just like when our immune system is working and keeping all the different viruses and diseases at bay, sin has no permanent hold over us because of God's grace when we choose to accept His grace and love.
Unlike AIDs which predominately affects Africa, sin affects the entire human race, all the negativity, evil and vile can be traced back to the root of sin. Again like AIDs, sin creeps in silently and sometimes people who are affected don't even know that they need help and they need it fast!
One difference though, unlike AIDs which is incurable by modern science, sin can be treated by God.
'Praise the Lord, O my soul, all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not his benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.' Psalm 103:1-5
One last thing, AIDs can be healed by Jesus Christ, heard of documented cases from churches. 'Impossible' is not in God's dictionary. =)
