Moments of Thanksgivings

Don't you ever get moments when you are just thankful even though there are no recent external circumstances like promotion, pay raise or legitimate reasons? Its just this quiet assurance that you belong to Christ, the hope of glory. His amazing love and grace that render Him to die willing on the cross for my sins...through no fault of His, He gave the one perfect sacrifice that FAR outweighs the payment of my all sins because He is greater!! This love that compels me not towards sin but towards wanting to know Him more...

'Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?' Romans 2:4

'Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.' 1 Thess 5:18

Sea Of Galilee The Sea of Galilee is the catchment basin for the Jordan River and is fed primarily by the melting snow of Mount Hermon in the north. Small streams also flow down from the surrounding mountains. It is 685 feets below sea level. Here Jesus rebuked the winds and sea, walked on water (Mark 6:45-52) and created a miracle of 'boat-sinking, net-breaking' catch(Luke5:3-10). Peter also walked on water until he took his eyes off Jesus and sink because of the storms (Matthew 14:28-32) On a boat, quite a symbolic sight with 2 flags side by side, given Singapore and Israel's relatively similar position and situation. Sea gulls flying to get bits of bread from us. Mount of Beatitudes Jesus delivered the famous sermon (Matt 5,6 and 7) on the Mount. Disciples first or Saints?

In the synoptic gospels the term disciples is used 160 times, John 78, Book of Acts after the church began 28 times. We can see the number of times it is being used is slowly dwinding, the question is why? Not once is it used in the rest of the New Testament after the book of Acts. That is extremely peculiar, why is that? Instead the Church members are called saints, brethren. As the Church developed they had what is called the body of Christ. This meant membership in Christ himself 1 Cor.12:13 . You can follow Christ and be a disciple and not be saved, or, you can be saved and follow which makes you a saint or one of the brethren. T his term "Saint" was first used in the NT when Annaias said Paul did many things evil things to the Saints in Jerusalem Acts 9:13(as when he put the saints in prison and put many to death Acts 26:10) The word Saint shows ones position in Christ, the word disciple shows one is a learner.
