Heart of grace
In recent years especially in Singapore where the message of grace has been slowly but surely gaining foothold, how did I gain that perception?
In the past if I talked to people about grace, they always said that it is just a license to sin (still do)and shun the topic but nowadays there is a greater emphasis on grace whether through songs or through acceptance.
However, there is still an emphasis on works, how can one just talk about grace and not lift a finger to work especially when phrases like 'resting from works' are being mentioned now and then. Interesting, people like to see their part and obedience. I have come to a realisation where I know its truly none of me and all of God that really matters. If there is good that people see in me, its all because of God, I cannot take any confidence and pride in me because I know who am I, it is the grace of God that change me from a worthless sinner to being a child of God with nothing to boast about except about the hope of glory, Christ in me!
Where my 'works' (fruits) are a result of embracing His un-condemning and non-judgmental love instead of self-efforts and performance based. Interesting, ever since Pastor Prince mentioned about the 'scandal of grace' in Hillsongs 2012 conference. United has came up with a song titled the same.
Scandal definition (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/scandal)
1. A publicized incident that brings about disgrace or offends the moral sensibilities of society: a drug scandal that forced the mayor's resignation.
2. A person, thing, or circumstance that causes or ought to cause disgrace or outrage: a politician whose dishonesty is a scandal; considered the housing shortage a scandal.
3. Damage to reputation or character caused by public disclosure of immoral or grossly improper behavior; disgrace.
4. Talk that is damaging to one's character; malicious gossip.
Talked about one's reputation being scandalised...for the gospel of grace..are you? ;)
Interesting, the pages with most hits are mostly on the topic of grace/law

Grace, what have you done?
Murdered for me on that cross
Accused in absence of wrong
My sin washed away in your blood
Too much to make sense of it all
I know that your love breaks my fall
The scandal of grace, you died in my place
So my soul will live
Chorus:
Oh to be like you
(To) Give all I have just to know you
Jesus, there's no one besides you
Forever the hope in my heart
Death, where is your sting?
Your power is as dead as my sin
The cross has taught me to live
In mercy, my heart now to sing
The day and its trouble shall come
I know that your strength is enough
The scandal of grace, you died in my place
So my soul will live
And it's all because of you, Jesus
It's all because of you, Jesus
It's all because of your love
And my soul will live
