March 2013
Before I could collect my thoughts for the start of 2013, its already March, so many things to give thanks for and so many blessings that really my heart is filled with thanksgivings.
Firstly, His provision for the new place, how as we look back from the hunting of flats, to the discussion with flat sellers to the selection of contractor and interactions have all been pretty smooth. Truly every time I stepped into my place, I am always reminded of how much He has blessed me. Interesting, we find no need to switch on the air-con at all as it is really quite windy at our place even when it is hot and humid at certain days especially when we heard our friends commenting about the weather..really am floored by His grace and favor in my life.
Pointedly, it mentions in the Word that when one depends on Man and on one's strength, the outcome is dryness, shrub in the desert, shall not see when good comes..meaning to say the good has already come but the person cannot see it, what a cursed thing that is! Another way of looking at this is simply people who complain and complain the whole day, not realising the good that is already in their lives, not having a heart that is thankful and gracious that without Him, we can do nothing. John 15:5
Jeremiah 17: 5-8
5 Thus says the Lord:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited.

7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not see and fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Secondly, the timely news about the recce trip cancelled due to the situation in Sabah where the militia seized certain areas (Semporna) etc, imagine if we were out there for recce when this incident occurs..*shudder* Really, it happens too close to home for comfort, this incident reminded me that peace in Singapore is not to be taken for granted, that our harmony and security is painstakingly build upon. Its not a coincidence that famous and rich celebrities from Jim Rogers to Gong Li applied for citizenship..
Thirdly, our new season of church life begins right after end of March, though it is with heavy heart I am leaving, bonds formed during these past many years in cgs, ministries, my previous church has taught me a lot, together with good and godly mentors and the fellowship...however I know that what we really crave for apart from all these, is really the solid intake of the Word of God, truly I long to run full steam in a ministry which echoes what's has been on my heart, to move in line with the church instead of feeling torn between the different winds of doctrine. May the Lord continue to direct our steps, for we may plan in our hearts but He determines the steps. :)
